Glover 250 - The Patterdale Project

Colonial artist John Glover's paintings display exquisite detail and glorious mastery. They also depict colonial heritage, the history of landscape art and an Aboriginal presence. It is all these things that see people making  the pilgrimage to Glover's former land grant, Patterdale Farm. The house at Patterdale, itself a subject of Glover paintings, still stands today and the landscape is remarkably unchanged.

2017 marks the 250th anniversary of Glover's birth. In preparation for this occasion, four Tasmanian artists, Amanda Davies, Josh Foley, Liam James and Megan Walch, spent time at Patterdale exploring the landscape and creating installations in response to the site, to Glover himself and to the landscape that inspired him.
